SURE! stands for Students Unite! for Representation and Empowerment, and we are proud to be a non-profit Student Council that operates independently and is self-governed. Our primary aim is to provide public benefits to the diverse student body of Unite! Alliance, comprising various esteemed European Universities.

Independence and Self-Governance

We believe in the power of student autonomy. SURE! is independent and self-governed, allowing us to tailor our initiatives to the specific needs and aspirations of our student members.

   Our Purposes   

Promote sustainability,  information exchange, while supporting students' unions and protecting students' interests in Unite! Alliance.

Advocate for the social, economic, political, and cultural interests of students and their human rights affecting education and societal status.

Champion equal opportunities for all students regardless of race, culture, social standing, beliefs, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

Ensure student representation in all governing bodies of Unite! Alliance

Work towards equal access to higher education for everyone.

Provide assistance and support to students' unions in Unite! Alliance

   Activities Led by SURE!  

  Information Management  

Collect, analyze, summarize, and distribute relevant information among SURE! members and the wider student community. This includes sharing best practices, policy updates, opportunities, and insights related to student life, mobility, governance, and higher education within the Unite! Alliance.

  Event Organization  

Plan and organize seminars, conferences, meetings, workshops, and training sessions that foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building among students, representatives, and partner institutions across Europe.

Discover

Policy Advocacy 

Develop, coordinate, and advocate for policies that reflect students’ interests and needs. This includes drafting position papers, participating in consultations, and representing student perspectives in decision-making processes within Unite! and beyond.

 Stakeholder Engagement  

Actively promote SURE! principles and initiatives among Unite! bodies, European institutions, national authorities, local organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. Build strategic partnerships to strengthen student representation and influence.

Campaign Execution and Cross-Border Collaboration 

Design and implement campaigns aligned with SURE!’s mission, addressing key issues such as inclusion, sustainability, and equal access to education. Engage students across borders through SURE! Task Forces to encourage active participation and collective action at the European level.

UITalks is founded and organized as a platform for student-led dialogue and collaboration.

2021
Creation of the Student Liaison Officer (SLO)

The Student Liaison Officer role is established through SURE!’s initiative.

First General Assembly

The first official SURE! General Assembly is held.

Foundation of SURE!

SURE! is officially established as a student organization within the Unite! Alliance.
